Paweł Sawicki and Ewa Teleżyńska-Sawicka

in conversation with Ezra May (17th June 2025).

Through their Memory of Treblinka Foundation, winners of the 2024 POLIN Award, Paweł and Ewa gather and disseminate knowledge about the Treblinka camp.

They collect existing reports by witnesses and survivors and inform about historical and archaeological research.

They collect and publish the names and surnames of the people, who were murdered in Treblinka. The Foundation is compiling the “Book of Names” and will create a “Wall of Names” of those who perished.

They believe that the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people should not remain anonymous. With each person murdered in Treblinka, their whole universe died – their knowledge, traditions, customs and faith.

Their Foundation wishes to tell people their stories, which is a difficult, extensive and long-term task.
